Whenever we head over to see our uncle, The Swan at Tarporley is usually our base. Sometimes we stay the night, sometimes we just slip in for dinner, and it always ends up being a lovely part of the trip. The food never misses. Absolutely delicious every time, and the whole place has that cozy, welcoming pub feel that makes you want to linger a bit longer. We had dinner there last night and the kitchen was on form again. Everything came out full of flavour and beautifully done. The only awkward moment was when I tried to order champagne. It’s listed on the menu by the glass and by the bottle, although it turned out none of the bottles were chilled. Not a big deal, still a great evening, though it would be nice if a cold one was ready to go since it’s advertised. Overall, The Swan remains a favorite stop for us, and I’m sure it will stay that way.

A Sanctuary of Warmth and Care on a Difficult Day While I have visited The Swan at Tarporley socially before, I recently had the occasion to use their private event room upstairs for a dear friend's funeral reception. Despite the sad circumstances, the experience was profoundly comforting. The team handled everything with the utmost sensitivity and care, providing a service that was truly second to none. The room itself is beautiful, with its historic paintings and central fireplace creating an atmosphere of warmth and closeness. It felt private, serene, and exactly the right space for friends and family to gather, reflect, and share memories. My sincere thanks to all the staff for their kindness and professionalism. You helped make a tough day a little easier, and for that, I cannot thank you enough.

I cycled here to ask about the Sandstone Trail pub-to-pub walk they do and I ended up staying for a pint (or two ) and their Sunday roast which, I can honestly say, I would put in my top 10 EVER! And I’ve had a few. Gorgeous pub, really lovely people and, as I say, fantastic beer and grub. I will most certainly be back, hopefully for the walk!

A firm favourite and always welcoming, we live too close to get a room but reckon, based on the rest of the place, they would be great too!! Super food, lovely character and charm.

Went for lunch yesterday. What a fabulous building right in the centre of Tarporley. Good food and splendid service by a young and very professional staff. Amy in particular looked after us very effectively . A thoroughly enjoyable experience which makes me wonder why it`s so long since we last went there!

Enjoyed a lovely six day stay here last week whilst visiting family nearby. Warm and welcoming with staff eager to be helpful. The breakfasts are delicious (i tried several options during my stay) and Alice, the waitress each morning, was incredibly efficient. Thankyou Swan at Tarporley. I hope to continue visiting!

We had a really nice time at The Swan at Tarporley, it’s a lovely spot with a great atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. The service was excellent, and the place itself has a really nice, welcoming feel to it. The only downside was the food. While it looked great and was clearly well prepared, it was a bit on the bland side and felt overpriced for what it was. A bit more flavour and it would have been spot on. Overall, The Swan is a fantastic place to visit for the setting, service, and ambience. Would definitely go back for the atmosphere alone.
